Intro

I’m Patrice Neff, co-founder of Squirro and a serial entrepreneur. Over the years, I have helped build and launch several products and companies, including local.ch, Memonic, and Squirro. I’m always looking for practical ways to apply modern technology to everyday life.

With a background in software engineering, I’ve worn many hats at Squirro: building the initial product, setting up the delivery function for client implementations, creating partner training programmes, growing our UK office and driving sales in the UK and Asia, product management, and research & innovation. These days I focus on standardisation, ensuring we continue to efficiently deliver real value to our customers.

Technology

My go-to language has been Python for many years. I sometimes dabble in other languages, but none of them ever seem to stick for me.

Client-side I have been writing JavaScript since about 1999, when DHTML was still an active term, though I have kept up to date and migrated to React for new code.

On the operations side I have journeyed from classic Linux administration, to configuration management, to today’s containerisation.

Other Interests

I’m also passionate about running and love being outdoors whenever possible, whether it’s cycling, camping, or just exploring new places on foot. I am also a bit of a language nerd and enjoy the challenge of learning and speaking new ones.
